EL Talla, Hamada

Abstract:
Since the occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip in 1967, Israel has imposed on the occupied territories customs and monetary union, which led to subdue the Palestinian economy to the Israeli economic policy. That practically led to the separation of the Palestinian economy for the Arab economies. In spite of the signing of the Oslo Accords and the establishment of the Palestinian Authority in 1994, the policies and practices of the Israeli occupation continued in the seizure of Palestinian economic resources and harnessed for the benefit of the Israeli economy. The main objective is to link the Palestinian economy in the West Bank and Gaza to the Israeli economy and increase the Israeli hegemony over the Palestinian economy and deepen the structural distortions in the Palestinian economy and make it hostage to Israeli interests, bringing the economy follower relying totally dependent on the Israeli economy. The Palestinian Authority did not take a clear strategy, and consistent policies to get rid legacy of the Israeli occupation or remove the distortions caused by the occupation during the period that preceded the establishment of the Palestinian Authority.
