Abstract:
The research experimental trial was conducted to determine the growth and yield performance of five varieties of cotton i.e. CIM-620, FH-142, CRIS-129, Krishma and MNH-786, during Rabi season, 2018. Significant differences in plant height, number of sympodial branches per plant, number of bolls per plant, average boll weight, seed cotton yield, ginning out turn, fiber length and fiber fineness were recorded among the varieties. The variety CIM-620 statistically produced maximum yield due to more number of sympodial branches, number of bolls per plant and higher ginning out turn.
