An Exegetical Study of John 4:46-54 and Its Significance for Christians Today
OTUNAYA Abdulazeez Olalekan

Abstract:
The four books of the New Testament are called gospels but the first three gospels are referred to as 'Synoptic Gospels'. The question that comes to mind is why John was not included in the Synoptics? Perhaps, the literature and theology of John's gospel is significantly different from that of the synoptic gospels. For a very long time, the gospel of John has been studied by different scholars especially its theological themes applying thematic and structural approach. Here, the study presents a clear exegetical comment on the sign of Christ's act of healing the official's son. This study is significant in the sense that though the examined event is historically and culturally far-fetched from the contemporary world; the significance for Christians today are clearly explicated and explored.
