Effects of COVID-19 on Nigerian Economy and Standard of Living

Abstract:
The COVID-19 pandemic affects the global system is multidimensional. From the direct threat to human life with increase the nation's mortality rate to the stretching of the health care systems. The effects of COVID-19 pandemic is also evident, indirectly and directly in the lapse in our economic sphere in Nigeria. it leads to an increase in unemployment, a decline in the gross domestic product, a rise in government expenditure and decline in government earning. The research agenda is to expose the effects of COVID-19 on the Nigerian economy and make recommendations on ways to correct the negative effect of the pandemic on the economy and the standard of living of the citizenry.
