The Determinants of Private Investment In Case of Mekene-Eyesus Administration Town, Ethiopia

Abstract:
The aim of the study is to identify the determinants of private investment and to assess the source of the problems to private investment in the town. In this study for the data collection purpose both primary and secondary data type was used that include questioner, and key informative interview, the secondary data includes annual report of Mekane-Eyesus town investment office. Accordingly the data has been collected and analyzed based on descriptive method so as to conclude and recommend based on finding. As to the finding, the source for the determinants of private investment is both from investors and government side. The former include financial problem, lack of sufficient know how in the area they were investing, no interest (intention) to take loan due to high collateral requirement. While the later include unfair taxation system, lack of strong monitoring and evaluating bodies and to some extent environment conditions in the town.
