Abstract:
In the article the function of hydronymic terms, which are part of onamastics, including toponymy, their function in the language, the state of research and the peculiarities of the use of hydronymic terms in the works of the famous Karakalpak poet T. Zhumamuratov are given. The article also studied the hydronymic terms in the works of poet into two thematic groups: natural hydronymic terms and artificial hydronymic terms. In particular, the meaning of hydronymic terms was analyzed and the history of their origin was told. At the same time, the stylistic functions of hydronymic terms used in the works of poet as artistic means of language were discussed.
