Abstract:
The presented report highlights the role of European Union funds and their impact on regional development. In this context, an attempt has been made to examine the philosophy and role that funding methods can play. The methodological and technological framework related to clarifying the processes of regional development and environmental management is considered. Municipalities have an important role and main beneficiary in Bulgaria and the exhibition analyzes their role in the process and the elements of the financing itself. An example of the low level of partnership between the municipalities of the Northeast and Southeast planning regions is also presented. Relevant conclusions and recommendations have been made.
