Abstract:
Ovarian cancer is the most severe gynecological cancer. The clinical presentation is not very clear, which explains the delay in diagnosis and consequently the high morbidity and mortality of this pathology. The symptomatology is not specific, and can vary from an increase in abdominal volume or diffuse abdominal pain, to an alteration of the general condition associated with ascites leading to the diagnosis. The case described in this article reports a very rare clinical presentation of ovarian cancer. In our case, a patient presented with postmenopausal genital bleeding and was found to have a vaginal tumor accessible to biopsy. A biopsy was performed and found to be a serous adenocarcinoma of ovarian origin. Thus, a primary ovarian tumor was suspected. Imaging revealed an ovarian tumor that appeared to communicate with the vaginal mass, thus suspecting a locoregional extension of the ovarian mass into the vagina. Delayed diagnosis of ovarian cancer is a real challenge. The discovery of ovarian cancer on the occasion of genital bleeding due to a secondary vaginal location is a sign of its extensive nature. The improvement of its prognosis depends first of all on an early diagnosis. Thus, the question of screening is a major issue.
