Abstract:
The objective of this study is to analyze the performance of SMEs in a context characterized by an almost non-existent financial market. Thus, with a view to achieving this objective, we opted for a quantitative approach based on the administration of a questionnaire on a sample of 48 SMEs from the Littoral and western regions. The choice of these regions stems from the fact that they represent 43.8% of the economic fabric (NIS, 2016). Using SPSS software, the analysis of the data collected was carried out using two techniques. First, the cross-sorting, intended for a crossing of two variables, led to the generation of a contingency table. Second, on the question of explanatory analysis, we used logistic regression. In this regard, it emerges that not only the most relevant indicator of financial performance is ROE but, equity financing, leasing and tontines more strongly explain the financial performance of SMEs in Cameroon.
