Abstract:
Hydatid cyst of the breast is a benign condition caused by Echinococcus granulosus. Breast hydatidosis is rare. It can be isolated or associated with other localizations, pulmonary or hepatic. The objective of our work is to raise an exceptional localization of the hydatid disease: the breast. We present here the case of a 32-year-old young woman admitted for management of a breast nodule discovered on self-examination, with anatomopathological examination in favor of a mammary hydatid cyst. It comes in the form of an isolated tumefaction of the breast and it is echo-mammography which makes it possible to make the diagnosis. The treatment is surgical. Although mammary echinococcosis is of slow evolution and generally of good prognosis, however it requires an early diagnosis and an adequate and timely management for ? (c)avoid the evolution towards the complications of the hydatid cyst sometimes with serious consequences. Prophylaxis remains the only way to eradicate this pathology.
