Abstract:
: Bronchial dilation or bronchiectasis is an irreversible dilation of bronchus or bronchus segment, localized or diffuse. They can be uni or bilateral. It is a disabling chronic lung condition that progresses through flare-ups of bronchial infections. They can be congenital or acquired. Treatment is to decrease mucus production and inflammation, and relieve airway obstruction. When the dilatations of the bronchi are well localized ; surgical treatment can be discussed if the general condition and the age of the patient allow it.
