Abstract:
The study aimed to find out the influence of microfinance in reducing poverty in Sudan, a case study of East Darfur state, in the period of 2007-2017. The study used descriptive analytical method to analyze the data collected by a questionnaire; it was distributed to the study sample, which consisted of 99 persons. The most important results showed that there is a positive relationship between microfinance and poverty rates, and microfinance leads to an improvement in the standard of living in the study area. The most important recommendations of the study are paying attention to the poor and enabling them to obtain microfinance easily, paying attention to training small producers and entrepreneurs on how to choose suitable projects for them, how to prepare a feasibility study and project management, taking care of women, students and graduates and providing the necessary funding for their activities.
