Abstract:
Humeral diaphyseal pseudarthrosis (PDA) remains one of the most complications of humeral fractures given its frequency, the difficulties of its management and its socio-economic impact and it is still a topical problem. The aim of this work is to evaluate the results of surgical treatment of aseptic pseudarthrosis of the humerus by comparing them with data from the literature. Retrospective study of 16 patients treated between January 2010 and January 2020 for aseptic pseudarthrosis of the humeral diaphysis with an average age of 45.75; our patients benefited during the cure of pseudarthrosis from an osteosynthesis either by a plate 87.5% or fr intramedullary nailing 12.5%. Functional results according to the SOO score with an average follow-up of 12 months, our results were very good in 43.8%, good in 12.5%, average in 25% and poor in 18.8% of patients. Earlier treatment of non-union of the humerus seems justified, the best treatment for non-union of the humerus remains optimal management of the initial fracture.
