Abstract:
Surgery in general and requiring the digestive stoma in patients followed for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), leads to impairment of body image, and can have serious family, social and professional consequences; The assessment of the overall and specific quality of life of these patients in the context of their care has become an essential dimension in the evaluation approaches carried out in public health. Early follow-up from the preoperative phase, and long-term support, as well as close collaboration between the doctor and the stomatherapist, are essential for the personalized care of ostomates. We included in our study 100 patients followed for active IBD, the goal of our work is to measure the quality of life (QOL) in this population of morrocans patients on the order of a generic Short Form-12 (SF-12) scale in non-ostomy patients, and its combination with another stoma-specific scale, the SQOLS score, in patients with a stoma. And to identify the epidemiological, clinical and endoscopic factors linked to the disease, as well as the indication, number and type of surgery associated with the quality of life of these patients.
