Abstract:
Omphalocele is a rare congenital malformation defined as an anterior abdominal parietal defect responsible on herniation of the abdominal contents at the base of the umbilical cord. It is a major form of median coelosomy and its incidence varies according to geographic location and race with an overall incidence between 1 /4000 and 1/7000 newborns alive. We report two cases of omphalocele diagnosed in the department of gynecology and obstetrics of the Mohammed VI Hospital of Oujda to emphasize the importance of imaging for the diagnosis of this malformation in order to schedule delivery in a specialized center.
