Abstract:
The yolk sac of the fetus performs important functions for the development of the embryo during organogenesis. It can be routinely visualized by ultrasound in all live pregnancies from 5 to 10 weeks. It has been reported that a large yolk bladder will have a poor prognosis on the course of the pregnancy. Through this article and a review of the literature, we will focus on this phenomenon rarely encountered in our current practice.
