Abstract:
Background: Menetrier's disease, also known as giant hypertrophic gastritis or hypo-proteinic hypertrophic gastropathy, is a rare form of idiopathic hypertrophic gastropathy. Case Presentation: We report the case of a 45-year-old woman, with no previous history, who consulted the gastroenterology department for epigastric abdominal pain. An ultrasound scan was performed and came back without any abnormality, so the decision was to complete the diagnosis with a CT scan, which revealed signs in favor of menetrier's disease, subsequently confirmed by high fibroscopy. Conclusion: The diagnosis of hypertrophic gastropathy or menetrier's disease is a very rare disease, which is diagnosed mainly by fibroscopy. Our case reports a patient whose diagnosis was made incidentally by cross-sectional imaging.
