Budgetary Controls and Efficiency in the Bank of Uganda Mbale Branch Download PDF

Abstract:
The study examined the relationship between budgetary controls and efficiency in the Bank of Uganda Mbale Branch. Specifically the study examined; relationship between budgetary monitoring and efficiency; and the relationship between budgetary evaluation and efficiency in the Bank of Uganda Mbale Branch. Descriptive correlational and cross-sectional survey design was used. A sample size of 36 randomly selected respondents was used. The study revealed that there is a significant positive relationship between budgetary participation and efficiency; there is a significant positive relationship between budgetary monitoring and efficiency; and that there is a significant positive relationship between budgetary evaluation and efficiency in the Bank of Uganda Mbale Branch This study recommended emphasis on budgetary compliance. The study also recommended that managers produce detailed budgetary plans to enable the implementation of the long term or strategic plan.
