Abstract:
Benign soft tissue lesions of the foot and ankle are common. Etiologies are diverse: inflammatory, infectious, tumoral and pseudo-tumoral. The discovery is often early, on the occasion of a painful point of the foot or the ankle, or the appearance of a mass easily palpable through the thin thickness of fat and muscles. Imaging, especially MRI, plays an important role in the diagnosis and follow-up of these lesions. Although the imaging characteristics of many of these lesions are nonspecific, their combination with lesion topography and clinical features allows the radiologist to suggest a specific diagnosis in most cases. The objective of this work is to identify the different benign soft tissue lesions of the foot and ankle and to describe their aspects on MRI.
