Abstract:
: Primary breast sarcomas are rare and aggressive tumors, representing about 1% of all breast cancers. A retrospective epidemiological study including nine cases of patients with primary breast sarcomas in the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department of the Moulay Ismail Military Hospital in Meknes, over a period of 10 years. Our study attempts to highlight a rare form of breast cancer which has the most pejorative prognosis. Clinical examination does not differentiate between breast sarcoma and other histopathological forms. Imaging is based on the combination of mammography, ultrasound and MRI. However, a certain diagnosis is only obtained by histopathological examination of the lesion and especially by immunohistochemistry. The treatment of breast sarcoma is mainly based on surgery. Mastectomy is considered the reference procedure, radiotherapy can complement surgery in forms with a high risk of local recurrence; on the other hand, and chemotherapy is only discussed in the case of forms with high risk of relapse, especially angiosarcomas. Primary breast sarcomas pose significant challenges in their clinical diagnosis, their management is codified. A multidisciplinary consultation will decide the appropriate approach; however, the prognosis of these tumors remains bleak.
