Abstract:
: Acute pancreatitis is the most common exocrine abnormality of the pancreas. The onset of acute pancreatitis postpartum or during pregnancy is rare. Biliary pathology is by far the most common cause, followed by hypertriglyceridemia. Acute pancreatitis associated with pregnancy-induced hypertension is a rare situation with an unfavorable outcome. Its prognosis depends on the speed of diagnosis. We report a case of serious acute pancreatitis secondary to preeclampsia occurring two weeks after delivery in a 24-year-old patient with a good outcome.
