CHAARA; My A. melhouf Abstract: : Internal mammary artery aneurysms (IMAA) are rare clinical entities [1] and usually occur in patients following sternotomy, central venous catheter placement or pacemaker leads [2]. Less frequently, these aneurysms are associated with vasculitis (e.g. Kawasaki disease [3]), connective tissue (e.g. Marfan syndrome [4]), chest wall infections [5] or atherosclerosis [6]. However, changes in vascular wall structure at the cellular level, such as medial cystic necrosis or hyperplasia, lead to loss of elasticity and aneurysm formation [6]. Since rupture of the AAMI leads to hemothorax and potentially life-threatening conditions, early diagnosis and treatment are essential. We report here the case of a 49-year-old woman followed for infiltrating breast carcinoma with an idiopathic AAMI.
