Abstract:
This study aimed to examine and quantify the concentration of radioactive radon gas in blood samples collected from donors in Iraq using the Airthing device. The blood samples were obtained from the National Cancer Hospital of Najaf and Al-Manathira General Hospital for cancer patients and healthy individuals. The concentration of radon gas in the blood samples was determined using the Canary device, and the results showed an average concentration of 3.88 Bqm-3. This study concluded that the concentration of 222Rn in the blood samples was within the limits allowed by the World Health Organization.
