Abstract:
: Tibial pilon fractures are rare conditions involving osteoarticular, metaphyseal and soft tissue involvement and account for 5-10% of tibial fractures and 1.03% of all fractures in adults. The ideal treatment method for pilon fractures is a controversial topic. The common method for treatment of tibial pilon fracture is open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF). Our study focused on 3 cases, having been treated by the MIPO Technique. In conclusion, MIPO is a reliable method of treating tibial pilon fractures. This technique allows a good reduction of a closed hearth and a good result with a minimum of complications.
