Abstract:
: Metacarpal tuberculosis is a rare presentation of tuberculosis disease, it represents 1% of all bone localisations. The clinical symptoms and radiographic signs are not specific making the diagnosis difficult. The diagnosis is essentially made by a bone biopsy and a histological analysis. We present the case of a 40-year-old woman in whom the suspicion of metacarpal tuberculosis was revealed fortuitously following trauma to the wrist. Bone biopsy with histological study confirmed the diagnosis of metacarpal tuberculosis. The patient experienced a total recovery after receiving medical treatment based on anti-tubercular treatment.
