Abstract:
Cystinuria is an autosomal recessive metabolic disorder responsible for lithiasis in children and adolescents. Isolated fetal colon hyperechoicity detected prenatally appears to be an early prenatal ultrasound sign of this disorder. We report a case of a 23 year old patient, gravida 2, para1, who presented to the maternity in labor for a full-term pregnancy whose prenatal ultrasound showed fetal colon hyperechoicity, with birth of a girl with a normal physical examination, urine analysis confirmed excessive excretion of cystinuria.
