Abstract:
Double Crush Syndrome (DCS) is a clinical expression of compression at multiple sites along a single peripheral nerve. It concerns all the peripheral nerves of the upper and lower limbs, from its root to the extremities. The similar symptomatology in DCS and carpal tunnel syndrome ( CTS) on the one side and in medial nerve entrapment syndrome in the elbow and proximal forearm on the other, occur a real diagnostic challenge and often leads to wrong site medial nerve's decompressions or an insufficient surgery without benefits after releasing the carpal tunnel. A muscular weakness and a positive scratch collapse, even with an EMG which moreover is often negative in elbow, require double surgical exoneurolysis.
