Abstract:
This study examined the impact of education attainment on women's labour force participation in Bunyoro sub-region, Uganda. The study was guided by Theodre Schultz's Human Capital Theory, which emerged in the 1960s. The theory assumes that education enhances one's efficiency and productivity thereby increasing earnings in the labor market. The study adopted a descriptive correlation research design using a quantitative approach to determine the relationship between education attainment and women's participation in the labour force within the Bunyoro sub-region of Uganda. A sample of 365 residents participated in the study. Self Administered Questionnaires were used to collect data, which were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The study findings indicate that education attainment positively and significantly influences women's labour force participation in Bunyoro Sub - Region. However, it is not the only factor influencing women's labour market outcomes in the region.
