Abstract:
Lymphomas of the lacrimal gland involving the MALT (Mucosa-Associated Lymphoid Tissue) system are rare. These orbital involvements are mostly localized to the anterior orbit. We present the case of a 35-year-old woman who was referred for a palpable swelling on the left upper eyelid, suggesting an involvement of the lacrimal gland. The diagnosis of B-cell lymphoma of the MALT type was made after immunohistochemical analysis of the gland obtained by biopsy. It is important to emphasize the significance of evaluating the lymphoma's spread to lymph nodes and non-lymph node areas for appropriate therapeutic management. A multidisciplinary assessment is essential to determine the best treatment approach.
