Abstract:
: The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that influence the fluctuation of agricultural products and to determine its impact on household income and consumption in the city of Buta. Indeed, this article wants to put clear information on the price fluctuation, either upwards or downwards relating to agricultural products that affect both the level of income and household consumption in the city of Buta. It should be noted that to collect the data, we used documentary techniques to obtain information related to our research topic. The survey questionnaire technique was also applied in this phase of data collection, as it allowed us to find information from households in the City of Buta. The information thus collected was processed by the descriptive and analytical method. The main takeaway from the study is that during the period considered, poor road conditions and low production yield would be factors behind fluctuations in the prices of agricultural products in the city of Buta. We also found that the upward variation in the prices of agricultural products would have a negative impact on the level of consumption and household income in the city of Buta. Finally, this study would urge the competent authorities to put in place an effective policy to revive the agricultural sector and to strengthen farmers' capacities in agricultural knowledge, skills and techniques in the food sector.
