Abstract:
Tracheobronchial anastomosis resections are infrequent procedures. Tracheal pathology is dominated by tracheal strictures (20% of tracheal pathology) and tracheal tumors which are 80% malignant. Anastomosis resection remains the best therapeutic option, where it is essential to correctly state the indication based on several selection criteria. As for bronchoplastic pulmonary resections, which are applied in 5 to 8% of pulmonary cancers, the indications are limited and allow carcinological resection while preserving good respiratory function, with a highly significant drop in morbidity and mortality rate. The prognosis of tracheobronchial surgeries is influenced by a good selection of the patient and a good mastery of the tracheal surgical techniques which evolved under the impulse of Grillo, and bronchoplastics where the extemporaneous examination of the cuts plays an important role.
