Abstract:
Bifacial photovoltaic (PV) technology represents a major step forward in solar energy generation, allowing solar cells to capture light from both the front and rear sides. This dual-sided energy capture increases the total energy yield, making bifacial PV systems a promising option for various applications, from utility-scale solar farms to agrivoltaic systems. This article reviews the working principles, advantages, challenges, and recent advancements in bifacial PV technology, highlighting its potential to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of solar power generation.
