Abstract:
This study explores the development and implementation of AdoptiPaw, a centralized online platform aimed at enhancing pet adoption, lost pet reporting, and community engagement. The platform addresses critical issues faced by animal shelters, including crowded shelters, inefficient adoption processes, and limited community involvement. Using a descriptive research design, data were gathered from shelter staff, IT professionals, and pet owners to understand existing challenges and user needs. AdoptiPaw was developed with a user-friendly interface and features such as real-time pet status updates, a reporting module for lost pets, and a donation portal to support shelters financially. Results indicate a significant improvement in user satisfaction and operational efficiency, with respondents rating the platform positively in usability, functionality, and reliability based on ISO 25010 standards. The platform effectively improved pet adoption and reporting processes that reduced administrative workloads, and fostered community engagement. While the system demonstrates substantial benefits, ongoing updates are recommended to further enhance security features and expand usability support. This project highlights the potential of digital solutions to transform animal welfare services, suggesting a framework that can be scaled to broader regions for a lasting impact on pet adoption and animal shelter management.
