Abstract:
This analysis explores leadership development programs for Southeast Asian universities, highlighting the need for forward-thinking leaders who can navigate regional initiatives and enhance educational quality. This study employed a scoping review methodology to synthesize existing literature on Leadership Strategies for Overcoming Educational Barriers in Southeast Asian Higher Education Institutions. Results revealed five (5) emerging themes on Leadership Strategies for Surmounting Educational Barriers in Southeast Asian Higher Education Institutions; (1) Addressing Challenges of Massification and Diversification (2) Developing Leadership Capacity Through Training Programs (3) Aligning with Regional Initiatives and Rankings (4) Implementing Strategic Management and Design Thinking (5) Transitioning from Management to Leadership. Investing in leadership development programs tailored to regional challenges is crucial for Southeast Asian HEIs to thrive in a rapidly changing educational landscape.
