Abstract:
This study establishes the relationship between management control system and organisational development in selected petroleum marketing companies in rivers state. Four hypotheses were established and tested for the study with a population size of one hundred and thirty-two (132) managers, supervisors, operational managers of 20 petroleum marketing companies which were selected based on census study employed. Therefore, 132 copies of questionnaire were distributed to these companies but only one hundred and twenty (120) copies of questionnaire were retrieved and tested with the Pearson Moment Correlation Coefficient. The result of the analysis showed a positive and significant relationship between all the dimensions of management control system and the measures of organizational development of petroleum marketing companies in Rivers State. Based on the result, the study therefore concluded that there is a significant relationship between management control system and organizational development of petroleum marketing companies in Rivers State.
