Large language models (LLMs) are emerging as a transformative force with the potential to revolutionize healthcare delivery. This review comprehensively examines the potential applications of LLMs in Healthcare, exploring their impact on various aspects of the healthcare system. We delve into the ability of LLMs to streamline research workflows through literature reviews and uncover hidden patterns within vast medical datasets. Additionally, we explore how LLMs can contribute to optimized clinical trial design. The review highlights the potential of LLMs to empower clinical decision-making by providing real-time access to accurate medical information, suggesting personalized treatment options based on patient data, and even analyzing medical images for improved diagnostic accuracy. Furthermore, we examine how LLMs can transform patient care experiences by translating complex medical jargon into understandable language, offering 24/7 support through virtual assistants, and fostering better communication between patients and healthcare professionals. The transformative impact of LLMs extends to medical education as well. LLMs can generate personalized learning materials, aid in the comprehension of complex medical literature, and support students in exam preparation.
