Abstract:
This study examined the role of emotional intelligence in enhancing leadership effectiveness and developing team resilience. As organizations face increasing challenges in maintaining high performance, understanding the connection between emotional intelligence and leadership outcomes becomes crucial. The primary objectives of the study were to explore how EI contributes to leadership effectiveness, assess its impact on team resilience, and investigate the role of empathy and social skills in building resilient teams. A review-based methodology was employed, analyzing existing literature and studies on emotional intelligence, leadership, and team dynamics. The major findings of the study revealed that leaders with high emotional intelligence are more effective in building trust, resolving conflicts, and motivating their teams, leading to improved performance and engagement. Furthermore, emotional intelligence positively influences team resilience by creating a supportive and psychologically safe environment, enabling teams to adapt to challenges and maintain high performance. Additionally, empathy and social skills are identified as crucial for fostering team cohesion and adaptability, contributing to long-term team resilience. Based on the findings, the study recommended that organizations prioritize emotional intelligence development in leadership programs, develop psychological safety within teams, and encourage the cultivation of empathy and social skills to build resilient teams capable of navigating challenges.
