Abstract:
The study focused on assessing the influence of coping skills on the stress level of Lias Elementary School teachers in the District of Marilao South, which is also a basis for crafting Project WOW (Wellness on Workplace). The said program promoted the teachers' well-being and mental health by initiating various activities that will enable teachers to develop physically, mentally, socially, emotionally, and spiritually healthy minds and bodies. Various statistical measures such as frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson r correlation were used to analyze the data and answer the hypothesis of the study. Moreover, the researcher utilized reliable and standardized instruments. To determine the coping skills and the level of stress of the 48 teacher-respondents, the Proactive Coping Inventory (PCI) developed by Greenglass et al. and Wilson Stress Profile for Teachers (WSPT) questionnaire were utilized. Results of the study revealed that coping skills significantly influence stress level. Moreso, it was concluded that the combined influence of coping mechanisms, namely Proactive, Instrumental Support Seeking, Emotional Support Seeking, and Avoidance (except strategic planning and prevention), are significant predictors of stress levels. The study recommended that the school head must continuously promote a healthy and supportive working environment where communication between and among faculty members will be present. It is the time and place for faculty members to discuss personal and professional conflicts under the supervision and leadership of the school principal. Teachers' concerns about workplace stress must also be handled effectively to prevent any problems from arising.
