Abstract:
Amniotic embolism (AEE) is a very rare complication, occurring in around 2 to 6 pregnancies/100,000 (1), but it is serious, unpredictable and often fatal. It most often occurs during labor, at the moment of delivery or at the time of delivery. Despite the progress made in recent years, its diagnosis and management remain a real challenge for clinicians, and maternal death is an extremely painful event for both relatives and caregivers.
