Abstract:
: This study aims to explore the hegemony of religious values ??in teacher-student interactions at MTsN 1 Jember through a qualitative approach. Using Antonio Gramsci's hegemony theory and Pierre Bourdieu's concept of cultural capital, this study analyzes how teachers as agents of hegemony transmit religious values ??to students, and how these values ??are internalized in students' daily lives. Data were obtained through interviews with teachers and students, classroom observations, and documentation of the curriculum and religious learning materials. The findings of the study indicate that religious education at MTsN 1 Jember not only conveys religious teachings explicitly through the curriculum, but also through a hidden curriculum that transmits dominant religious ideology. Teachers play an important role in strengthening this religious ideology, while students tend to accept these values ??without much question. This study concludes that religious education in schools not only functions as a formation of individual piety, but also as a mechanism for social reproduction and ideology that maintains existing social structures. These findings provide implications for the development of a religious education curriculum that is more inclusive and reflective of the diversity of religious understandings, by providing space for students to develop a more critical and tolerant understanding of religion.
