Abstract:
Smooth muscle tumors, called leiomyomas, are benign and can develop anywhere in the body, but the uterine myometrium is the most common site. Vulvar leiomyoma is a rare benign tumor with an incidence of 0.02% of vulvar pathologies. It often has the same clinical features as Bartholin's gland cyst, and it is difficult to distinguish between benign and malignant types of vulvar leiomyomas, making diagnosis extremely difficult. We report the case of a 40-year-old patient, second procedure, with ATCD of conization; who was referred to us for treatment of a solid left vulvar mass. Surgical excision of the mass was carried out and histological examination of the surgical specimen concluded that it was a leiomyoma of the vulva. The postoperative course was simple.
