Abstract:
The suspicion of high genital tract infection (IGH) is a common occurrence in gynecological emergency services, especially among young women of childbearing age. Complicated forms require hospitalization with intravenous antibiotic therapy, while tubo-ovarian abscesses may require drainage. These high genital tract infections can lead to irreversible tubo-pelvic sequelae, potentially causing chronic pain and infertility. We conducted a retrospective study on 25 cases of IGH managed in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department II of CHU Hassan II in Fes over a period of 5 years, from January 2019 to December 2023. The objective of our study was to analyze the epidemiological, clinical, and bacteriological characteristics of IGH treated in our department, as well as to discuss the associated diagnostic and therapeutic challenges.
