Abstract:
Alveolar soft tissue rhabdomyosarcoma is a rare malignant tumor of skeletal muscle that typically occurs in adolescents and young adults. (1) Alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma contains a genetic modification involving the FOXO1 gene It is an aggressive type of cancer that frequently spreads to lymph nodes and other parts of the body. (2) The most common sites are in the head and neck (40%), the genitourinary tract (25%) and the limbs (20%) (3) There are two types of rhabdomyosarcoma: the embryonic type, which is more common in children and the alveolar type, which is more common in adults and more aggressive, also there is the pleomorphic type, which is rare. 18F-FDG PET/CT is proving to be a powerful tool for assessing the extent of these tumors. (3) Our case involving a 16-year-old girl, consulted for a mammary nodule whose final diagnosis was perineal rhabdomyosarcoma with meta mammary. This type of metastasis is very rare according to the literature.
