Abstract:
: Varicella zoster virus (VZV) is a dermo-neurotropic infection caused by a virus belonging to the herpesviridae family. Its incidence in pregnant women is low: less than 1 pregnancy/1000. The occurrence of varicella during pregnancy carries the risk of complications for the mother, fetus and newborn. This paper is based on a case study of a 23-year-old patient who consulted our clinic for a rash during a full-term pregnancy and was diagnosed with varicella. The aim of this work is to propose, on the basis of a literature review, a reasoned management of VZV infection during pregnancy.
