Abstract:
This paper examines Philippine research coordinators' diverse duties, challenges like resource constraints and communication issues, and calls for greater research community support and recognition. This study employed a systematic review to investigate the responsibilities and difficulties faced by research coordinators in the Philippines. Results revealed five (5) emerging themes on roles and challenges of the research coordinators in the Philippines namely; (1) Balancing Act: Revealing the Multifaceted Responsibilities of Research Coordinators; (2) Harmonizing Efforts: Exposing the Teamwork Choreography of Research Coordinators; (3) Ethical Expeditions: Unraveling How Research Coordinators Navigate Moral Pathways; (4) Rising Stars: Shedding Light on the Professional Evolution of Research Coordinators; and (5) Pursuit of Excellence: Exposing How Research Coordinators Shape Study Triumphs. Philippine researchers depend on research coordinators, who manage ethical compliance and stakeholder communication, yet severe workloads and limited resources might lower their productivity and job satisfaction. To empower research coordinators and optimize research quality, institutions need to provide training, improve communication, and address workload issues.
