Abstract:
About 5% of all thoracic tumors are primary tumors of the thoracic wall. Whether benign or malignant, these tumors require an analytical approach, involving precise definition, clinical, radiological, and pathological evaluation, as well as consideration of therapeutic options and prognosis. Surgery remains the main treatment for resectable benign and malignant tumors, while non-resectable tumors require a multimodal approach. Despite advances in surgical procedures, a detailed preoperative evaluation is crucial for planning appropriate intervention. Excision and reconstruction are essential steps in surgery, aiming to ensure both complete tumor removal and preserved respiratory function.
