Abstract:
The focus of the research is Nigerian firms' environmental accounting and security. For businesses to succeed in their operating environment, a place must have security and calm. It is imperative that this type of business take responsibility for the social and economic advancement of the community it serves, benefiting the locals in the process. Both financial and non-financial reports, as well as certain disclosures, are required to be included in a company's financial statements. According to the study, there are a number of advantages for certain businesses that come with adopting environmental accounting practices. These advantages include improved decision-making capabilities, more precise product or service costing, improved public relations and image management, recognition of social responsibility, identification of market development opportunities, identification of operational areas and ways to reduce costs while preserving legitimacy. According to the study's findings, environmental accounting is a crucial component of cost-effective management that directs management's decision-making within a company. Additionally, it makes it possible to actualize the potential of upholding CSR in the context of sustainable development in the locality in which they operate, which will improve service delivery in terms of output and profitability.
