Abstract:
The presence of waste management requires its managers to be committed in ecosystem stability protection. Particularly, the SWM needs a profound handling procedure when it is concerned with hazardous and infectious substances which generate issues on social and environment. So, as a solution to waste management, zero waste is one of the most visionary concepts in solving the waste problem, and has strategies of sustainable waste management. Therefore, this journal attempts to review the strategies for sustainable waste management relative to zero waste practices. The systematic literature review (SLR) method was employed to achieve the aims and objectives of this research journal. Findings from the SLR indicate that main strategy that should be employed in managing waste. Consumption and cleaner production of sustainable or green products, which relates to the resources management aspect of sustainable practices. Besides that, waste minimization, education and clean up significantly, and reducing waste to landfill are the most crucial factors of reducing waste, which relate to the sustainable operations aspect of zero waste practices. The second strategy used such as "Reusing" a discarded material or product, and approach involves redesigning the resource supply chain. Then, recycling is the final strategy, which can include redesigning products, packaging, and processes suitable, resources conservation and recycling, and ecycling single used plastic. Reusing and recycling materials save time and money and protect the environment, which is the main concern of sustainable practices.
