Abstract:
: Massive vulvar edema is rare during pregnancy but requires special attention as it can lead to maternal and fetal complications. It may be associated with several pregnancy-specific or non-specific pathologies, the diagnosis of which necessitates a thorough medical history, clinical examination, and standard laboratory tests. Treatment should primarily address the underlying cause whenever possible, alongside symptomatic management. In some cases, this condition may require cesarean delivery. Apart from the potential risk of tissue necrosis and the exceptionally rare risk of maternal death associated with massive postpartum vulvar edema, the prognosis is favorable with well-managed treatment.
