Abstract:
In the process of foreign language learning, how to better enhance students' learning enjoyment and reduce anxiety and burnout is increasingly becoming an emerging research trend. In this study, a questionnaire survey on teacher support, foreign language enjoyment and emotional intelligence was conducted using a quantitative research method with 398 valid samples from 421 undergraduate students at a university in Eastern China. SPSS 21.0 and the PROCESS procedure were used to analyze the data, and the results indicated that 1) teacher support significantly and positively affected foreign language enjoyment, and 2) emotional intelligence significantly mediated the relationship between teacher support and foreign language enjoyment. Based on the findings, this study corroborated that teacher support is one of the important factors in enhancing foreign language learning enjoyment. In order to trigger students' foreign language enjoyment, teachers should actively give students emotional, cognitive and behavioral support, with which they can increase students' learning interest and motivation, and promote students' overall development.
